How to Analyse Protein Domain by SMART database
|
previously, we talked about different methods to analysed the presence of conserved domains in given protein sequences. We talked about two most popular databases, CDD and Pfam, and methods to analysed protein domains in single or multiple sequences. Here I am going to discuss another protein conserved domain database which is also used very frequently by researcher i.e. SMART. You may use either a Uniprot/Ensembl sequence identifier (ID) / accession number (ACC) or the protein sequence as a query to search protein domain by the SMART analysis service.
