The Walking Dead : The Resurgence Of Preventable Diseases
|
Today I read an interesting article about how the disease who were considered to be dead are emerging again throughout the world. Data of Council on Foreign Relations clearly indicated that diseases, measles, mumps, rubella, polio, whooping cough, and other diseases, that can easily prevented with vaccines have made a comeback in the past few years. These data covers 2008-2013 and most surprisingly this outbreak is global. From map it appears theat Measles has came back in Europe, while whooping cough has become a problem here in the U.S.
In Indian scenario, 5 cases of Measles and 32 cases of Polio were reported in 2008 but there was no report of any disease in 2009. But in 2011, more than 30,000 cases of Measles were reported. After that several cases were also reported in next two years
